Celebrate the Closing of our Big Read with a Big Read In

Monday, March 29, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Celebrate the conclusion of New Hampshire's month long exploration of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee by joining a participatory reading of selected scenes.  Interested participants can pick up a copy of the play after 11 am on Friday, March 26.  Even if you can't stop by to pick up a play, join us. This event is co-sponsored by the Keene Public Library and the Keene's Hourglass Readers.   The Hourglass Readers are dedicated to doing public readings, free of charge, of the plays of Shakespeare and other playwrights. The group hopes to encourage interest in the plays by lively readings in versions abridged to one to one-and-a half hours. The group includes people of all ages who love drama and love performing. The members are: Catherine and Frank Behrens, Sarah Ellsworth, Michael HainesBig Read NH 2010, Chris Morrill, Dan Patterson, Ruth Siegel, Don Wilmeth, and Ben Wise.

The Big Read: NH Reads To Kill a Mockingbird is a project of the Center for the Book at the NH State Library. The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.
