The Keene Public Library invites fairy tale fans to a special “Terrific Tuesday” presentation in the library’s Heberton Hall on Tuesday, July 20th at 1:00 pm. Mother and daughter author/illustrator team, Leah Marinsky Sharpe and Jane Marinsky will read their debut picture book "The Goat-Faced Girl."
The book is a reinterpretation of a classic Italian fairy-tale. School Library Journal reviewer Mary Jean Smith wrote “"Full-color paintings done in rich hues capture a long-ago-and-far-away ambiance that melds nicely with more modern sensibilities. This tale is a pleasure to read, and the illustrations are an absolute delight.” After the story, the team will answer questions. Young fans can become “goat-faced” by creating a mask to take home to re-tell the story. Books will be available for purchasing and signing.
Leah Marinsky Sharpe lives in Vermont and is a doctoral candidate focusing on the management of aquatic species. Her mother, Jane Marinsky has been an editorial illustrator
for many years and taught illustration at Daemen College in Amherst, New York. She spends her winters in Buffalo, New York and her summers in Vermont.
The Keene Public Library is located at 60 Winter Street. All library programs are free and open to the public. Please call the library at 603-352-0157 for more information.
