We’re celebrating Harry Potter Book Night at the Keene Public Library on February 2nd, 2017

February 2017 will see the third annual Harry Potter Book Night celebrated throughout the world and here at the Keene Public Library we’re getting ready to celebrate the Professors of Hogwarts. The fun kicks off at 6 p.m. in the Youth Department of the Keene Public Library, 60 Winter Street.

They say that the influence of a good teacher can never be erased so who better to celebrate on Harry Potter Book Night 2017 than those who taught Harry Potter and his friends many magical skills. Whether it was the suave charm of Gilderoy Lockhart or the dark complexity of Severus Snape, many of the professors of Hogwarts had a huge impact on Harry Potter’s adventures at Hogwarts. So get ready to celebrate The Professors of Hogwarts on February 2nd, when once again, fans of all ages will have the chance to celebrate J.K. Rowling’s wonderful series – and pass the magic on to young readers who haven’t yet discovered these unforgettable books.

Here at the Keene Public Library, young wizards, witches, and Muggles will be treated to an evening of games, activities, readings and quizzes. It all begins when the Sorting Hat decides who will be in which House, competing for house points throughout the evening’s challenges. At 6:30 p.m, The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum will present live Owls, interactive discussion, artifacts and demonstrations in honor of the latest installment to Harry Potter's wizarding world.

All programs at the Keene Public Library are free and open to the public.  All programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Keene Public Library.  For more information, please contact Gail Zachariah at the Keene Public Library at 603-352-0157 or visit www.keenepubliclibrary.org.
