Tuesday, July 11, 2017. at 1 p.m. in Heberton Hall

Splinter Reeds is a wonderful group of reed players (clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, oboe, saxophone) that are in residence at the Walden School. Splinter Reeds, whose members are oboist Kyle Bruckmann, clarinetist Bill Kalinkos, saxophonist David Wegehaupt, bass clarinetist Jeff Anderle, and bassoonist Dana Jessen will offer a hands-on musical experience for people of all ages. Splinter Reed is the San Francisco Bay Area’s first reed quintet, composed of five talented and innovative musicians whose reeds vibrate primarily to the sounds of the 20th and 21st Century. As fierce advocates of new music, Splinter Reeds is committed to commissioning new works and presenting top tier performances of today's best new music while demonstrating the vast possibilities of the reed quintet. The members of this new music dream team share a composite performing history that includes the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Eco Ensemble, Alarm Will Sound, International Contemporary Ensemble, Sqwonk, Dal Niente, and much more.

The Friends of the Keene Public Library generously sponsor this free event. The Keene Public Library is located at 60 Winter Street.
