Build a Better World Book Tasting for Adults and Families

Friday, June 16, 2017, at 5 p.m. in the Trustees Room

The Keene Public Library is hosting a ‘Book Tasting’ for our "Build a Better World" Summer Library Programs on Friday, June 16th from 5: to 6 p.m. Our "Book Tasting" is for adults, teens, and children ages 9 years of age and older to view a selection of books at the library. The participants will have an opportunity to preview various books and rate them according to the book’s cover, description, and a brief excerpt. And it is not only the books they will get to ‘taste’. Younger children are welcome to attend this program with families but most of the books on the "menu" will be books for adults and youth in fourth grade or above.

Then throughout the summer, we will have evening Book-to-Action Chats when library guests will enjoy a light meal, discuss a book, and plan community actions that will bring the book close to home. Read the book. Put the ideas in the book into action in your community. The Keene Public Library's "Book-to-Action" series will get you, your family, and your neighbors together to talk about the book, connect with each other, and choose a project to improve our community
