Book-To-Action Discussion of “A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him”

The community is invited to the Keene Public Library’s Book-to-Action discussion featuring “A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him” by Luis Carlos Montalván to be held Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 6 p.m. Luis Carlos Montalván was a captain in the U.S. Army who served two combat tours in Iraq, where he earned the Combat Action Badge, two Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart. “A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him” highlights how war changes those that experience it. In the book, Montalván shares his journey of how his Tuesday, a beautiful Golden Retriever and highly trained service dog, contributed toward the process of healing, allowing him to re-enter life, despite life changing combat wounds and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Come join friends for a light meal and a good discussion about books and community. Books can inspire you to make the world a better place-starting in your own neighborhood! The discussion is free to the public and is sponsored by the Friends of the Keene Public Library.
